Happy (Belated) New Year!

I haven't got much to say today. Just figured I'd post a quick blog post.

I haven't really done much with life lately. There's no job in my near future. No car either. I spent all last month fighting to keep my food stamps (my scheduled renewal interview on 11/30/11 never happened, due to an administrative error). I went until past Christmas with no food stamps, living off whatever I had left from the $200 deposited on 11/12/11. After fighting and getting my stamps back just before New Year's Eve, I felt a little better. But then my TV started to go on me. Anyone that knows me knows that my technology is my biggest downfall. I buy things that are of quality that should last a long time. From computers, to cell phones, to TVs, even the Xbox 360, I waited until it was nicely refined, to the point where it was reliable. I'll cut corners here and there, such as getting a refurb Xbox just so I could afford one last tax season. But my TV isn't up to par any longer. Random lines of green, blue, red and white started appearing, and the TV cuts in and out randomly. It's something I asked for funding for during Christmas, but my family couldn't really help. I know TV isn't important, so I'm giving up on that. But now, I need to work on something else; a car.

My plea: A job is hard to come by here, unless you have transit out of this little river town. Sadly, the Port Authority cut our buses back in March, so I'm trying to raise funding for a car. Then the possibilities are endless: I was offered my job back at the pizza place I worked at, so long as I get a car so I can be a delivery driver. I'm dying for that job back. I also want to go back to school. Things that I'm dying for, but are just out of my reach due to the lack of a car. I've gone without one since March of 2010, which caused me to have to leave behind my college career. I want to develop applications for a long-term career, but that requires a degree. Something I just can't get done without any sort of transportation.

So, I decided to revive my PayPal account, and brushed off the dust, setting up a donate button which I'm going to post here, then add to the side of my blog. I'm going to work on putting it everywhere I can, cuz I need a car, and my attempts are all falling flat. Even $500 by May 12th, which is when my insurance is up and I can't renew (they finally caught up to me no longer having my old car, and I must have a car on it by renewal on May 12th). This means I'll lapse, and my insurance will be expensive whenever I do get a car, to the point I won't be able to keep up with it. So, I'm doing my best, applying everywhere, had multiple interviews, most places turning me down due to my lack of reliable transportation, the rest due to me not passing the assessment tests (don't ask... I'm not cut out for those things, apparently). So please, pass along to anyone you know who is willing to donate to a charitable cause, because I need to get at least $500 to find a beat-up car to get me around enough to find a job, and hopefully go back at the pizza place even part-time.
